The use of burglar alarms is pretty common nowadays. More and people are getting concerned regarding the safety of their home and properties. But is really the purpose of a burglar alarm? The most commonly used is the passive infrared ones wherein a change in the retained temperature will set off the alarm. This type of burglar alarm is more effective in smaller places.

There are also some detectors or burglar alarms which are better off outdoors. They can be placed in various areas outside the home. The most common place for it to be placed is on top of a security fence. It is usually there to there with other devices such as a CCTV or an outdoor camera. These home security systems work well together. They can offer more protection to the homeowners. They also serve as back-up to heighten the level of the security of the place.
